Solicitor
We are a busy, friendly and well supported Legal team, situated in the Merseyside area with good transport links to surrounding areas. We have embraced new ways of working and the role will feature remote working, offering a high level of flexibility, allowing staff to take control of their work/life balance.
The role will cover a wide and varied case load of child protections matters, including pre-proceedings, care proceedings, discharge proceedings and general advice. Experience of Education law is desirable but not essential, as the primary focus will be on public law cases.
You will be responsible for managing a caseload of childcare cases and advising on all aspects of law relevant to Child Protection and Safeguarding, including advocacy in the Family Court. Advocacy experience is therefore desirable.
We welcome applications from Solicitors, Barristers and Legal Executives with experience of or an interest in advising in relation to children’s safeguarding matters. Whether you are newly qualified or have significant experience of child protection from a career in the public or private sector, we are interested to hear from you.
Council employees are required to abide by the ethical standards embodied by the 7 NOLAN principles of conduct in public life. These include selflessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness, honesty and leadership.
We welcome applications from the BAME community.
